When Fuji S6500FD is not enough anymore

UPDATE (2008/08/14):
I have bitten the bullet and got myself Canon EOS 40D [review] instead. Read about my DSLR shopping experience here.
I have sold my Fuji S6500FD camera few days ago. Most likely I will be getting myself a Canon EOS 450D [review] as a replacement.
Fuji S6500FD served me extremely well, and I have made some DSLR-like photos with it. I will most definitely miss its compact size, great 10x manual zoom and fantastic movie mode. In good hands that camera could really produce stunning images.
What I won't miss is the absence of a hot-shoe or a flash sync terminal (I need one of those for driving my studio slaves), slow RAW writing, and a bit awkward menu system.
For everyone out there thinking about doing the same — make a mental note that I expect average results from Canon EOS 450D until I move from the kit lens (a.k.a. camera dust cover) to something better (like 70-200mm F2.8L for example). If your expectations are higher don't waste your money because you will most likely end up being disappointed.
